Magazine
2019
MIDDLE is an editorial magazine that documents the transitional period experienced by the people closest to me during my early twenties. Each individual, ranging in age from 20 to 25, is portrayed at a pivotal moment of personal growth, uncertainty, and change.
The project is grounded in the belief that we are always existing in some version of the middle. We are moving toward something, leaving something behind, or learning in real time. MIDDLE explores this in-between space as a universal yet deeply personal experience.
For this publication, I photographed each individual within the intimacy of their own bedroom to preserve authenticity and emotional context. These portraits are paired with interviews that reflect on what each person’s “middle” looked and felt like at that specific moment in their life. Through editorial pacing, restrained typography, and quiet visual storytelling, the magazine invites readers to pause and recognize the shared vulnerability within periods of transition.
